Terms of use

Section 1
Who these terms are with
This website is published by Bloom Technologies, a software company operating in Ethiopia from Bole, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. “We” and “us” mean Bloom Technologies; “you” means anyone using the site.
By using this website, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Section 2
What these terms cover — and what they do not
These terms govern your use of this website. They are not the terms on which we build software for anyone.
If Bloom builds something for you, that work is governed entirely by the written contract we sign with you — scope, timelines, payment, ownership of what we build, warranties, support and liability all live there. Nothing on this website varies that contract, adds to it, or overrides it, and if this page and your contract ever appear to disagree, your contract governs.
Section 3
Nothing here is an offer or a quote
The pages describing our products and services are published to tell you what we do. They are an invitation to start a conversation, not an offer capable of acceptance, and no contract comes into being because you submitted a form or we replied to it. We are bound only when both sides sign a written agreement.
Prices, availability, timelines and product capabilities described here may change without notice. Any figures, case descriptions or results mentioned on the site are illustrative of past work and are not a promise of a particular outcome for you.
Section 4
Using the site properly
You may read, print and share anything published here for your own or your organisation's use. You may not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server, or any connected system;
- interfere with the site's operation, or attempt to overwhelm or disrupt it;
- use the forms to send unlawful, abusive, deceptive or bulk unsolicited content;
- misrepresent who you are, or submit someone else's personal data as your own;
- scrape or copy the site systematically in order to republish it or pass it off as your own.
Some of these are not only a breach of these terms but criminal offences under Ethiopia's Computer Crime Proclamation No. 958/2016, and we will report conduct of that kind.
Section 5
What you send us
When you send us a message, an application or a link through this site, you confirm that what you send is yours to send, that it is accurate, and that sharing it with us breaches no one else's rights or confidence. Please do not send us confidential information belonging to a current or former employer.
You keep ownership of everything you send. You allow us to read it, store it and act on it for the purpose you sent it for — answering your enquiry, or assessing your application — and for nothing else. How we handle the personal data inside it is set out in our privacy notice.
If you send us an unsolicited idea or proposal, we cannot treat it as confidential and we may already be working on something similar. Nothing in these terms obliges us to keep such an idea secret or to pay for it.
Section 6
Our content, and our name
The text, design, photographs, illustrations, code and layout of this site belong to Bloom Technologies or to the people we licensed them from, and are protected by Ethiopian copyright law and by the corresponding law of other countries. The name Bloom Technologies, the Bloom wordmark and our product names are ours.
Quote us, cite us and link to us freely — we would rather you did. What you may not do is republish substantial parts of the site as your own, or use our name or marks in a way that suggests we endorse, supply, or are connected to something we are not.
Section 7
Links to other people's sites
Where we link out — to a social network, to a service we use, to something we found worth reading — we do not control what is on the other end and we are not responsible for it. A link is not an endorsement, and the other site's own terms and privacy practices apply once you leave ours.
Section 8
Availability and accuracy
We try to keep this site accurate and available, but we do not promise either. It may be unavailable while we maintain it, or because of something outside our control, and information on it may become out of date between the day we publish it and the day you read it.
The site is provided as it is. To the fullest extent Ethiopian law permits, we exclude liability for loss arising from relying on information published here, from the site being unavailable, or from any interruption or error in it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Section 9
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The date at the top of the page tells you when we last did. Changes apply from the day they are published, and your continued use of the site after that is your acceptance of them.
Section 10
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of this site, are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The courts of Ethiopia have jurisdiction.
Electronic communications between us — including messages sent through this site — have legal effect under the Electronic Transaction Proclamation No. 1205/2020, and neither of us will dispute the validity of a communication merely because it was electronic.
Questions about these terms, or about anything on this site, go to privacy@bloom.et. How we handle personal data is set out separately in our privacy notice.
